Severe weather was found throughout the Southeast Saturday, April 24, 2010. The most talked about supercell was the one that dropped a tornado that tracked from Louisiana towards the Golden Triangle–preliminary estimates are at 149 miles! In Yazoo, the tornado was rated as an EF4 and decreased to an EF3 by the time it got to Weir, which is where the following pictures are from. There were ten fatalities in Mississippi that day–4 of which were from Yazoo and 5 from Weir.

Great pictures of the tornado damage. Is this the first time you have seen first hand the power a tornado has?
And the pictures with you holding a microphone – were you broadcasting at the time?
I vaguely remember going out and looking at the damage during the 2001 Pontotoc tornado. But I doubt I will forget this. It’s tragic anyone should have to go through that.
I took a camera out there and did practice reporting, I guess you’d say. Jason Dunning went with me. He filmed/recorded while I was “live in the field.” I hope to be able to use it on a resume tape one day.
